Lee has finally returned home after six long weeks! He's been in El Paso training to be a canine handler. I think it was pretty rough for him at first. His dog was pretty stubborn and he had a lot of studying to do. He toughed it out though! And now we have a dog named Anja, much to Mitchell's delight. He's not afraid of her at all, unless she gets too liberal with the licking. I think they'll be good friends. She's trying to adjust to being in a new environment, and she never sits still! I guess she has a really high drive to work, she doesn't know how to just relax. I feel kind of bad for her. Hopefully some of my work ethic will rub off on her and she'll become a bit of a slacker. Mitchell and I are both VERY glad to have Lee back. Mitchell won't let him out of his sight. I tried to go in his room while they were in there playing and Mitchell told me to 'go'. He just wanted Daddy time. Fine with me! I could use a little Mommy time.

Hey - I'm glad that Lee has made it back home - and the dog looks nice! It's good to hear that she is Mitchell-friendly, and vice-versa. See you in about a week or so!
Oh, she's really cute. And I'm glad to hear she's nice, even though I know you'll never leave them alone together because Mitchell is quite snack-sized still.
Sigh of relief to speak out loud to another adult, am I right?!
i just wanted to say that mitchell makes a very cute eggplant.
Welcome back, Lee. And welcome to the desert, Anja. :)
Well I just read your blog for about 20 minutes - your desert saga just sucked me right in! I find it extraordinary that you live amongst raging lightening storms and tiny tiny handguns. Not to mention extended periods of single motherhood. You're pretty much the most exciting girl I know.
Also, id really like to see those pictures of you and jayna and natalie when you were 12. HILLARIOUS! Of course, mine with courtney and nichole are equally as bad!
good lookin' dog. You know we have one of those too, but I don't think we could have any playdates because mine likes to do inapropriate things to the back end of anything with four legs. TMI I know, but they would have cute puppies. Glad Lee's back, I know the feeling. Bryce was gone for 12 weeks only to find out that his original dog was a total "cujo" spaz. We had to give him back and that's when we finally got Camo. The good one, except for the humping thing. LOL.
