Lucky me

I'm one of those fortunate people that's been blessed to have a few girls that have been my close friends forever. And, lucky me, two of these girls have moved back to Boise with their families, so I get to see them when I go home. It's fun to catch up on their families and reminisce about past happenings. We've been close friends since elementary school. So they've been there for all my embarassing moments, silly crushes, and major life changes. Really, they know far too much about me. It's nice that we can just pick up where we left off everytime. It's also pretty darn helpful for someone like me who has no memory. Since they were there for pretty much everything, they can fill in all the many blanks in my memory. So, Jay and Nat, thanks for almost twenty years of friendship, and I can't wait for decades more! This rather unfortunate picture was taken in a shadowy corner of a Mexican restaurant, so we may not be looking our best. I had to post it though, it's the only picture of all three of us that has been taken in many years. Just be glad I didn't dig up any pictures from when we were 12, no one should have to see that.

In other news, it's hot! I was cruelly taunted with the beginnings of fall while I was in Boise. I love fall, it is my absolute favorite season. I would say that might be the thing I miss most since moving to the desert. So in Boise I got to feel the air cooling and starting to get a touch of crispness in the morning, and then it was all ripped away when I stepped off the plane in Phoenix. Stupid 108 degrees. So Mitchell and I are doing our best to stay cool and entertained. He's still loving letters, he can now identify 10 of them. I'm hoping he gets his reading tendencies from me, rather than his father, who has not read a non-Church related book since he was forced to read one in high school. Thankfully lately he seems to have gotten his appetite back. It was a little touch and go there for a bit. It was only a matter of time before I had a child who was surviving solely on small amounts of chocolate milk. He's getting pretty good at the 'Itsy, Bitsy Spider', and he knows what the wheels, the wipers, and the mommies on the bus do. Yup, he's pretty much a genius!

Ahhh, thanks friend. Until the part where you posted that hideous photo. (You clearly did it to solidify your position as the "Pretty One After Kids"...I digress.)

I'm home, lonely and in need of protection while Tyler is in NY. Come back immediately and bring all your dangerous paraphernalia with you.

Love you more than my luggage.

Boy you have really been putting Mitchell to the grindstone since you got back in Quartzsite - 10 letters? He only knew 4 when he was here in Boise! It sounds like he's really coming up to speed on the nursery songs as well. Enjoy the heat!
