A blog of great disappointment

As I live in the middle of nowhere, and Mitchell is just not a very good movie buddy, I miss out on any movie theater visits. Yesterday I finally watched Pirates of the Carribean 3. Holy crap! What a lame movie! For reasons that I can neither understand nor explain, I loved the first one. Seriously, I watched it a million times. So I was looking forward to the second one, and when it was convoluted, hard to follow, and a little odd, I was sad. Even greater than my sadness, was my disgust. Those sea people were so nasty! I spent most of the movie looking away or nauseous. Yet, there was still hope in my heart that they could make me love Jack Sparrow again. It was not to be. Mostly that third movie just made no sense! And those darn sea people were in it again. By the time I got to the end I didn't even care that it was a lame, horrible ending, I was just glad the dumb thing was over. Realistically though, what can you expect? They based three whole movies on a 2 minute ride at Disneyland.

Well, it may have been a two minute ride, but you had to wait in line for 2 hours!! Yes, I would agree it was a really dumb movie and don't feel too badly - I can go to the movies just about any time I want but there are no movies worth seeing. If the movie Bella comes out on DVD, you need to rent that one though! Say hi to Little Mitch for me! Love, Mom

yes, yes, and yes. jamey and i watched it for the first time last week and suffered through the whole thing. it took all our will power to make it through the last 10 minutes though. jamey wanted to dropkick keira knightley. i'm glad we found your blog by the way. now we can keep tabs on little mitch.

I've had to seriously reconsider 15+ years of friendship with you after reading this post. YOU LIKED THE FIRST ONE? MILLIONS OF VIEWINGS? That is far more disturbing than the time I captured you on film listening to the voices in your head at age 14 at girls camp. But I've decided ultimately to overlook this crazy lapse in judgment since I'm too lazy to break in anyone new. Who else could be my undefeated farkel partner?

I too loved the first one. In fact, I own it. Part 2 was a let down & 3 should not have even been put in the theaters. It should have just been like one of those low budget films & went straight to DVD. I was also disappointed, but what can you do—a movie about pirates can only go so far.
