Once again, nothing too exciting to report, it's just been a while. Let's see, what's been going on? Mitchell and I recently returned from a trip up north. We visited my grandparents in Salt Lake and then went on to Idaho. It was great to be there, although I was reminded of how much I hate being cold. Give me 110 degrees any day over freezing to death. It was great to spend time with family and friends. While I was at Jayna's house, Mitchell stood up by himself for the first time. I was excited, however, that trick has not been repeated. I guess that's good, the sooner he walks, the sooner I have to chase him all over the place.
In our little slowly developing subdivision they recently turned the house next door to us into a model home. Which means that lately there have been people in and out of it constantly, which wouldn't bother me if they could figure out that our house is not a model as well. I've had two people try to walk into my house. Scared the crap out of me.
I am husbandless today, which would not be unusual during the week, but he usually has Sundays off. He had to work today, he was sent to Yuma to be with the family of a Border Patrol agent who was killed yesterday. Lee is part of his station's Peer Support team, so he's down there to do whatever he can for the family. It's just really sad. I kind of don't like thinking about it, it just hits a little too close to home when an agent dies. A drug smuggler didn't want to get caught so now this agent's wife is a widow and his kids don't have a dad. I guess it just makes me more grateful everytime Lee comes home safely.
I've attempted to attach a video of Mitchell saying apple, hopefully it works. There are few things he likes more that chewing on an apple. He just kind of gnaws on it. Every so often I have to reach in and fish some peel out of his mouth and I'm usually rewarded by being bitten. I don't know what his big fascination with apples is, I would really like to know what goes on in his head sometimes. (on the video you have to click 'play' twice)

That is too bad about the agent- especially since Lee knew him. What a horrible tragedy. I can't believe you actually have to face that kind of stuff. On a lighter note, that video is adorable. Long live apples! And I can't believe that he hasn't stood on his own again...lucky you! It was fun seeing you guys in BOise. He'll be running away from you next time I see him!
Maybe you should have an "un" welcome mat. Oh, and a big angry dog.
I'm not gonna lie I cut straight to the video & it was cute to hear Mitchell say one of his first words on tape. I know I've said this before, but he really is so so cute.
