Mi Casa

It is so wonderful to finally be in a house! I've lived in apartments for basically the last eight years of my life. It's just so good to finally have our own space. And our own appliances, that work! We moved last Saturday. All in all it was not a bad day as far as moving days go. Moving anything is the worst thing you could ask Lee to do. He absolutely hates it. Which means that in the past moving day has turned him into super angry/grouchy man. This time though he did very well. It helped that we had some friends come help (thanks guys!) that made everything go much faster. And Lee's mom and sister were here, which was also a big help. Mitchell had Auntie Rachel to entertain him all day. So pretty much everything got dumped in the garage and I've been slowly emptying out the boxes. I'm kind of losing steam though. I've gotten to that point where I've unpacked the stuff that we use daily, which I guess means that the stuff that is left is not really all that important and I should probably get rid of it. However, I know that a few of those boxes are books, and heaven knows I'm not getting rid of them. We are loving not having to worry about how much noise we're making, there's no one living under us now! So Mitchell can jump to his heart's content in his excersaucer. And of course, every load of laundry I do is an absolute delight. I'm not sure how long that will last. But it's seriously been awhile since our clothes smelled so clean, so I might love it for awhile. My only complaint so far is the bugs! We do live in the middle of the desert, so I guess I shouldn't be suprised. Mitchell is going to have to learn how to kill crickets or how to live in peace with them, because they are everywhere! At least I haven't come across any snakes or scorpions. I'm sure it's just a matter of time. And luckily Mitchell seems to finally be adjusted to his new surroundings. The first few days were a little rough for him. His little world got turned upside down. He was whiny and crabby and had to be held all the time. I think he was just wondering when we were going to go home. But, he's back to normal now, maybe even better than normal, since he's been sleeping very well lately.

WOW- who are you? A new blog layout, AND new house pictures all in the same day. You're Super Kelsey now...Allyson better step up her game. LOVE the house- a new house is so delicious to clean, because nothing is really dirty yet. Enjoy it while it lasts! What the heck is that cement wall behind your house? That's my only question. And when you say crickets, do you mean the smallish black ones, or the large, disgusting looking mormon variety? Your answer may impact my future visiting potential. Well, congrats Mrs. Pooley...you are an official HOUSE WIFE!

Hey - I like what you did with the Blog page - very professional. I guess it's a good thing that your friends talked you into doing a blog. My only question is, why am I not listed as a Friend??
The house looks great and I am really looking forward to visiting next week. It's a good thing you have a Mother-in-Law room - where are you going to put Dad? Love, Mom
