Mitchell's love affair with the drums continues as strong as ever. He just loves it. At home he has to be content with lining up all my pots or food storage cans in a semi-circle around himself and drumming away. But when we go to Phoenix to see Nana and Grandpa he gets two wonderful things: an actual drumset, and Uncle Kevin who knows how to play it. He would sit forever and listen to Kevin drum. Yesterday we went to Phoenix on the first leg of our trip to Idaho. Before we even walked in the door Mitchell was waving his arms to let me know that he was all ready to drum. Once he got inside he made a beeline for the room with the drums. I heard him pick up the drumsticks and then...silence. I walked into the room to see Mitchell standing forlornly with drumsticks in hand, in the empty space where the drums were supposed to be. Oh my, what a sad face. His little chin was quivering, trying to be strong, but the loss of his precious drums was just too much. After a few tragic tears we sorted out the location of the drums and brought them back to the house. Poor Mitchell, this was nearly as traumatic as the glow worm incident, but at least there was a happy ending. He's getting pretty good, you can't tell in this video, but he is, trust me.

It's clear he's a beat genius. Maybe you should look into Russian Drumming schools? Can't wait to see the real McCoy in a few days!
