So what has Mitchell been up to lately?

I think in a lot of ways this toddler stage is one of my favorites so far. It has been so fun to watch him learn new things and say new words, and just start to become a little person. It's been funny to realize how much he's watching us and paying attention to what we're doing. I've been known to give a few 'looks' in my life. And Mitchell has received a few of them in his short life. Most often he has received the 'one raised eye brow you're in trouble' look. He's starting to copy me and it cracks me up to watch him raise his little eyebrow and stare me down. It's even more entertaining because he knows he's being funny and he giggles when he does it.

He's also recently been into writing. I can't call it drawing because he so obviously thinks he's writing something. He has to hold his colored pencil just so and has to keep adjusting it until it's right. Then he writes a little scribble and says 'e' and then he writes another scribble and says 't'. He'll sit there forever writing 'letters'.

Last night we had some friends over for dinner. They have a son who's 5 and a daughter who is Mitchell's age . After dinner the kids were running around playing and they made their way into Mitchell's room. They hadn't been in there long before the 5 year old came flying out the door very upset and covered in goo. It turns out that he and Mitchell decided to crawl under Mitchell's crib. Which would have been great except I had recently placed a very sticky, gooey bug trap under there. So the poor 5 year old ended with a massive amount of stickiness all over his arm and shirt. Apparently Mitchell had pulled the trap off of the five year old's arm and so Mitchell's little hands were sticking together. So the adults had a good laugh and then tried to figure out how to get rid of all the goo. Luckily, I had a large bottle of Goo-Gone that took care of it. Lee was pretty proud that Mitchell was involved in his first 'boys getting into trouble incident'. The first of many I'm sure.

We've already come to the toddler tantrums somewhat, and we are definitely in the midst of toddler pickiness. I don't know what that kid is living on at this point, he turns up his nose at everything.
So there you have it, a brief peek at the good times at our house.

Hey those are really cute pictures. You need to email them to me so I can add them to my screensaver. It's funny to see how Mitchell is taking after you. You were always "writing" important documents when you were his age at your little Snoopy table.

Now this is what I'm talking about- a real meaty Mitchell post! He is too cute with his little "writings"! And I'm glad that he's perfecting his "looks" now so that all the girls can be intimidated of him at some later future. Almost to nursery, right?!

Yes Jade still has a bit of goo in her hair. Amazingly the little bit I had on my clothes and Teagan's jeans washed out in the washing machine. Not ready to run Jade through the machine just yet though. Just letting you know for future reference. Although I'm not sure sweet Mitchell would get into any trouble like that again without help from my kids. :P Why did we not take pictures? So you guys must come soon and let Mitchell run free in the grass. Or painting outside. He would love that! Off babyshowering today. Talk to you later.
