This post and this picture are for my sister. She doesn't actually read my blog, but whatever. Pretty much since Mitchell was born she has said he looks like a turtle. Not entirely sure where she gets this, but I think it has something to do with his lips being pointy or something. Anyway, we went to the aquarium in Baltimore last weekend and I snapped this little shot of the two turtles. Yes, that is a toddler leash strapped to his back. And no, I'm not ashamed that I leash my child like he's a small animal. In crowded places with people that like to kidnap and little boys that like to explore a leash makes me feel safer.
In addition to visiting the aquarium, we took a boat across the harbor to Ft. McHenry. This is the fort where the original Star Spangled Banner was flying during the War of 1812, you know, the one that inspired our national anthem.
That was pretty cool. I remember hearing about that event in history class, it was kind of surreal to actually stand where it happened. I think that's what I'll miss most about being here, being surrounded by history.

Yep, I remember hearing about that in history class too. Very cool.
Your Dad with his bird eyes and your sister with her turtle lips...apparently there is something WILD about Mitchell.
Very awesome that you are there. I don't believe we will ever speak on the phone again. THe universe is conspiring against us. How much longer are you there?
