Earlier this month we met my mom in San Diego for a little break from the heat. Because of all this immigration nonsense going on around here, Arizonans are supposed to be boycotting San Diego. We went anyway, but my mom told us that if anyone hassled us because of our Arizona license plates she would pretend not to know us. We spent some time at the beach, everyone got considerably more sandy and wet than I had planned on. The last time we went Mitchell was very cautious about getting in the water, this time he was more bold, and consequently more wet. Sam is a future surf bum, we had to keep pulling him out of the waves, and he'd turn around and head right back out to sea. That night we had a little early birthday party for Sam. The cake kinda stumped him at first, but he figured it out pretty quickly and was soon walking around with two fistfuls of cake. We did the San Diego Zoo. Mitchell was having a stubborn day and missed many of the animals because we said, 'Hey! Look at that giraffe!' And he refused to do it and would look the opposite way. Quite charming, and mostly caused by lack of sleep and too many days of upset routine. The next day we went to the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park. I can only recommend that you go there if you're taking a three year old who doesn't know any better. The displays were few and far between and not all that exciting, but Mitchell really liked it. All in all, a good trip, and we managed to avoid getting hassled by any angry Californians. Here are many pictures of our adventures, in completely random order.

Glad to see that you are back blogging!! Allyson is getting her blog shaped up today, too. I made a skirt for her crib tonight and I may tackle some bumper pads - but those are a lot of work! I enjoyed our visit in San Diego - Dad wants to get you guys up here for a visit so he can take the boys to the Nat and fishing. I don't know when he thinks that's going to happen - but I guess it can't hurt to wish.
You're so beautiful, Kelsey.
