(modeling the apron I made for him, the kid likes to cook)
So remember how excited you were when your child said their first word? Good times. The excitement of hearing new words and that cute little voice saying cute little things. And then they grow up, and their favorite word becomes 'stupid', and you have to start thinking carefully about the words you use because they will be thrown back at you. Last week I was trying to get Mitchell to clean up a little faster, he told me to 'chill out'. Today I was asking him for the thousandth time to stop messing with the buttons on the dishwasher while it was running, he told me to 'leave me alone'. And pretty much anything I say or do lately is met with his finger over his mouth accompanied by a loud, Ssshhhhhh! At least there's only one mouthy kid in the house at the moment. The most Sam can manage is ah-goo. I suppose it's just a matter of time before he too is talking about farting.

finally! I've been wondering how you were doing!! It always is bizarre to hear routine words sound like PROFANITY out of the mouth of a toddler. Sam is getting bigger! He's so cute!
Oh, I'm laughing :) Laura used to tell me to Shhh all the time. Now she doesn't so much, but Ellie occasionally tells me I'm ruining her life--so that's fun.
I feel your pain. Luke tells me "Im not your friend, mom".
LOL! I'm one of those bad moms that encourages that behavior. It's not directed at me of course. My favorite is Holy Crap!
Ah - it's wonderful to hear that you're being treated like a parent! We are excited about coming down to see you all in a couple of weeks!
I cant wait to tell him to leave me alone! ha ha
